​We are currently seeking an organised and proactive Admin Assistant to join a team in Truro on a part-time basis.

The Admin Assistant will play a crucial role in maintaining administrative operations and supporting various functions. The ideal candidate will be responsible for processing reports, managing documentation, and providing essential support.

Working Monday’s only ongoing, with potential for holiday cover, 08:30am till 5:00pm.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Report Processing: Handle missed collection reports and other worksheets promptly, in line with the Contract Performance Framework from Cornwall Council. This includes investigating reports and liaising with supervisors, workforce, and residents.

  • Filing: Perform general filing duties, ensuring all paperwork is organized and up-to-date.

  • Meeting Preparation: Set up meeting rooms, including preparing tea, coffee, and buffets as required.

  • PPE Management: Issue PPE to crews, maintain the tidiness of the PPE room, and conduct regular stock takes.

  • CCTV Monitoring: Monitor CCTV footage of vehicles, completing a pre-populated Excel spreadsheet with findings.

  • Software Use: Demonstrate proficiency and correct application of the following software: Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) Outlook (Email/Calendar Management)Whitespace Contel, EPOD (company-specific software – training will be provided)

  • Communication: Confidently use the phone to communicate with the public, local authorities, and businesses. Maintain professional and clear communication at all levels.

  • Teamwork and Independence: Work effectively as part of a team, but also be capable of working independently.

  • Organization: Exhibit excellent time management skills and maintain a high level of organization.


  • Previous experience in an administrative role is preferred.

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and willingness to learn company-specific software.

  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.

  • Ability to manage time effectively and prioritize tasks.

  • Comfortable working independently and within a team.

  • Highly organized with attention to detail.
