Lively and vibrant business based in Truro, is seeking motivated and inspired individuals to join their expanding team in the role of Collections Agent.

As a ‘Trainee Collections Agent’ you will communicate with a range of clients’ and customers in order to agree outstanding resolutions to their arrears. You will be responsible for a portfolio of accounts which will be worked effectively.

The candidate should be able to converse clearly and demonstrate empathy to customers in difficult circumstances, putting both the customer and the clients’ needs at the forefront of every conversation. Full training is provided, consisting of up to 12 weeks within a dedicated development team. You will be trained how to speak with control and direction, and with an empathetic approach towards customers. To uphold clients reputation and brand throughout the customers journey. Ensuring that you meet and exceed regulation and compliance standards.

A competitive starting rate of £10ph and uncapped commission. Once basic training is complete the rate will move to £11ph with an additional increase to the commission rate.

Responsibilities:

  • Contact customers with outstanding arrears and negotiate payment terms and schedules.

  • Manage own portfolio of customer accounts.

  • Strict adherence to compliance and core standards of our clients and regulators.

  • Work towards and exceed weekly targets to gain commission.

  • Operate independently in a team environment.

  • Attend educational programs and training sessions for professional growth and personal development, including updates to industry regulations and company policies.

Person Specification

  • Demonstrated skills in negotiating and resolving conflict.

  • A positive outlook when dealing with a difficult situation.

  • Drive to meet weekly sales goals.

  • Ability to speak persuasively and give clear transparent information.

  • Telephone experience preferred but not essential, as full training will be provided.

  • Accurate data entry skills.

  • Basic level of IT skills required.

Pay and Rewards

  • Wage whilst training £10ph, moving up to £11ph once complete (6 - 12 weeks).

  • Significant opportunity to increase your base rate up to £17ph.

  • Competitive commission-based reward structure in addition to salary. OTE £45,000+.

  • Working hours will be Monday to Friday 08:30 - 17:30 and 1 in 3 Saturdays worked 09:00 - 13:00.
