We are seeking an experienced Legal Secretary to join the conveyancing team of a well-established and reputable law firm in central Truro. This is a full-time permanent position, working 9.00am to 5.15pm Monday to Friday.
The Role: You will be working as a Legal Secretary dealing with property matters. The role will encompass assisting the legal advisors with routine processes and communication on client matters, dealing with new enquiries received by e-mail/ phone/ website and end to end administration of client files. You will also assist with financial management of the client files including billing, collection of disbursements and debt in collaboration with our Finance team.
You will need to have a flexible approach and the ability to work within a team environment. With a typing speed of at least 65wpm, you will be required to provide a high quality secretarial and administrative service to the Team. You must be able to produce a high volume of accurate typing by means of digital dictation and other means, and you will also be responsible for diary management, routine client telephone enquiries as well as general secretarial duties.
The ideal candidate will have excellent interpersonal and communication skills and a focus on exceptional client care. You will have solid legal secretarial or administration experience and be used to working in a busy and highly professional driven environment, including digital dictation, copy typing and e-filing. The position would suit someone who is highly organised, motivated, accurate, proactive and committed to meeting deadlines while remaining calm under pressure. Excellent all-round communication and IT skills, professional telephone manner and attention to detail is essential. Previous experience of working in a law firm, commercial or residential estate agency is an advantage.
