​We are looking for a diligent and reliable Maintenance Assistant to join a team based in Falmouth!

You will be responsible for performing routine maintenance tasks, assisting with repairs, and ensuring the overall upkeep of student accommodation facilities.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform general maintenance and repair tasks, including plumbing, electrical, carpentry, and painting.

  • Conduct regular inspections of common areas, student rooms, and facilities to identify and address maintenance issues.

  • Assist with preventative maintenance activities to ensure the longevity and safety of building systems.

  • Respond promptly to maintenance requests from residents and staff.

  • Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities and report any major issues to the Maintenance Manager.

  • Ensure all tools and equipment are used safely and maintained in good working order.

  • Collaborate with the housekeeping team to ensure common areas are clean and presentable.

  • Provide excellent customer service to residents, addressing their concerns with professionalism and courtesy.


  • Previous experience in a maintenance role is preferred but not required; training will be provided.

  • Basic knowledge of electrical, plumbing, carpentry, and other general repair skills.

  • Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.

  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

  • Good communication and interpersonal skills.

  • Physical stamina and the ability to lift heavy objects and perform manual labor.

  • Confidence with using basic Microsoft packages.

  • Availability to work on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays.
