​My client, a bespoke engineering business near Truro, is seeking a Manufacturing Systems Engineer, for a new permanent position. As part of a successful Operations team, the successful candidate will assist with driving the production of a market-leading product. This is a key role within the business to support the development, implementation, and management across all aspects within the factory to include production processes, tools, systems, and machines. The Manufacturing Systems Engineer will focus on the development of production and test systems as well as providing day-to-day production engineering support to the business.

Applicants must have previous experience within a similar role, a relevant degree, and a can-do attitude.

Additionally, solid knowledge of manufacturing engineering, technical manufacturing alongside design and documenting experience will be required.

Key duties & responsibilities:

•Monitor, maintain and continuously improve production systems and processes

•Contribute to the production and maintenance of a technical roadmap

•Work alongside the R&D team to support transfer to production of products

•Resolve problems, identifying and eliminating root causes

•Support Tech Support and Quality Teams to resolve customer complaints

•Promote safety on site across production and engineering activities

Essential experience & qualifications:

•Degree in engineering or similar discipline

•Hands-on engineering of production systems and tools

•Knowledge of developing and implementing test systems

•Experience in the application of Lean six sigma tools, ideally green belt or above

•Familiar with Lean Manufacturing principles and their implementation

•Understanding of production process management and controls

•Ability to train staff and support them with problem solving
