They are looking to recruit an experienced Service Engineer to join their aftersales team.

 

The purpose of the role will be to examination products, with subsequent investigation, evaluation reporting and appropriate action being taken.

 

Main duties and responsibilities:

 

  • Fault Finding, Servicing and Repairing. Evaluation of returned products.

  • Generally working as part of a small team, have the ability to work autonomously and manage time, to ensure products are investigated, evaluated and as required serviced and repaired efficiently and effectively providing long-term reliability and customer satisfaction in the brand

  • Generation of repair documentation and repair quotations through our workflow system

  • Take part in fault finding and repair on and occasionally offsite covering all Watson-Marlow group company products.

  • Carry out performance and safety testing in accordance with the relevant specification

  • Monitoring and recording recurring or common faults, noting patterns and reporting these as appropriate

  • To promote GEM by recognising opportunities and therefore providing suggestions for improvements to processes or procedures, potentially reducing repair time and maintaining customer satisfaction

  • Evaluate customer returns and if appropriate and required, action the restocking of products.

  • Occasional direct communication with customers and group companies around the world

  • Ensuring customer requests are carried out and rectified within a timely manner, and are done so within service contract response times as appropriate

  • Assist in providing training, developing training material and support to colleagues from group companies and distributors

  • Continually improve your own CPD – particularly around product and systems knowledge. Some travel will be required to receive and complete training.

 

Required Skills & Experience:

 

  • Demonstratable electronics experience. Must include a good understanding of electronic circuits and components

  • Working to SOPs and processes

  • Working with broad product ranges

  • Component level fault finding

  • Interpreting schematic and technical drawings

  • Ability to communicate outcomes effectively with the wider team

  • Working to deadlines and prioritising workload

  • Excellent attention to detail

  • Logical and proactive approach to problem solving

  • Electronics qualification or equivalent demonstration of electronics ability to include circuit recognition and discreet component function

  • Mechanical Engineering qualification or equivalent experience

  • Electrical qualification or equivalent experience, in particular 3-phase motors and inverters
