​An exciting opportunity has become available to join a busy manufacturing team in Redruth in the role of Trainee Sewing Machinist.

The role will see the chosen candidate working within a busy machining team. The role will include full ‘on the job’ training, although previous experience within a similar role would be desirable.

You will ideally have some interest of the textile industry and be looking for a new challenge.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Sewing bespoke garments including reinforcements and fastenings

  • Use of zigzag, overlocked and blind hem machines to high standard

  • Check products to specifications

  • Sew alterations as required

  • Log work on manufacturing software

 

Skills and Experience:

  • Experience is desirable but not essential as full training can be provided to the right candidate

  • Must be thorough and precise

  • Have a high attention to detail

  • Ability to work well with your hands

  • Numerically competent and computer literate

  • Ability to work to own initiative as well as part of a team

 

Working hours:

39 hours per week, 07:30 – 16:30 Monday – Thursday, 07:00 – 12:00 on a Friday

Salary: From £9.70 per hour. Increasing to £10.45 once trained.
