​We are excited to be working with one of Cornwall’s most established and reputable manufacturing firms. A leader in their field with a fantastic reputation in both their sector and as local employers, they are looking to employ a CNC Machine Setter / Operator to work at their head office in Hayle. You will need to have experience within CNC machine tool setting and operating, either milling or turning experience preferably on Millturn machines.

This is a full time permanent role paying between £28,000 to £30,000 per annum doe working 07:30 – 16:30 Monday to Thursday and 07:30 – 12:30 Friday. They would also be happy to interview candidates that would only like to work part time, but a minimum of three days a week.

Key Responsibilities

  • To control the use and supply of consumable cutting tools used in the manufacture of product within a group machining facility.

  • Support the supply of raw material to the machines and monitoring of consumable cutter usage ensuring that proper stock levels are maintained.

  • The supply of tooling kits to the shop floor with all of the relevant cutter data and descriptions required to support the manufacturing process ensuring the tools are safe for use and in good condition.

  • Ensure that all products are supplied efficiently, on time, in full and to the required quality specification.

  • Supporting the business values through the application of the highest standards in the approach and application of processes and procedures.

  • Adhere to all health and safety procedures and ensure that the other team members are kept safe.

  • Support personnel development and the development of others within the team by sharing best practice.

Key Skills

  • Millturn machine experience would be desirable.

  • Interpret engineering drawings and apply these to the machined components.

  • Maintaining the companies long tradition of supplying quality products to a wide client base.

  • Responsibility on working with both small and large batch sizes on high value components.

  • Self-motivated and able to work to customer-specific deadlines.
