​Are you a electrical fitter looking for you next role in the marine industry? My client, one of the top marine engineering companies in Cornwall are seeking a Electrical Fitter to work out of their head office near Redruth. As an electrical fitter, you would be responsible for the mechanical and electrical building and wiring of our electrical control panels and plant equipment.

This is a full time permanent role working a 37.5 hour week. Salary is paying £15 - £18 per hour doe + offshore premium, overtime paid at 1/3 extra hourly rate. A full job description is available on request.

Key Tasks

  • Wiring to include cable identification and termination.

  • Installing cable management solutions for electrical panels to equipment to include cable tray, trunking, and conduit.

  • Initial testing of new equipment to include first power up, fault finding, and functional testing.

  • Installation and refurbishment of onsite equipment.

  • Mechanically building control panels including switchgear, contactors, and control equipment.

  • Electrically wiring up control panels and associated plant equipment.

  • Initial point to point wiring checks and testing.

  • Fault finding and functional testing of new and returned hire equipment.

  • Refurbishment of existing customer equipment.

Essential Skill

  • Previous electrical experience in a similar role, working on single, three phase, and low voltage systems.

  • The ability to fault find on various electrical systems and solve problems as they arise.

  • Able to read and work from electrical schematics.

  • Competent at soldering wires and electronic components.

  • Strong communicator with excellent IT skills including MS office.

About You

  • BS7671 18th edition certification advantageous but not essential.

  • BS2391-52 Initial testing and periodic inspection or equivalent advantageous but not essential.

  • A working knowledge of industrial communications and PLC’s

  • Offshore and/or Marine sector experience

  • Eligible to work in the UK.

  • Valid passport.

  • Full UK driving licence.
