​Are you a mechanical fitter or a assembly engineer looking for you next role in the marine industry? My client, one of the top marine engineering companies in Cornwall are seeking a Mechanical Fitter & Assembly Engineer to work out of their head office near Redruth. The role will include the management and operation of new builds, maintenance and servicing of the product pool as required. The products include offshore equipment and include electrical, hydraulic and mechanical machines and assemblies.

The successful candidate will need to be self-motivated and capable of managing their time and resources effectively in order to meet product and project deadlines. This is a full time permanent role working a 37.5 hour week. Salary is from £13.00 - £17.00 per hour doe and includes 25 days holiday per year plus bank holidays.

Key Tasks

  • Mechanical fitting.

  • New build assembly and testing.

  • Maintenance and commissioning of hydraulic systems.

  • On site troubleshooting and repairs.

  • Pre delivery inspections.

  • Post receipt inspections and repairs.

Essential Skill

  • 3 years industry relevant experience minimum.

  • Relevant qualification in mechanical, hydraulic or electrical fitting and assembly.

  • Evidence of previous supervisory experience.

  • Full UK driving licence.

  • Valid passport.

  • Ability to read and understand engineering drawings and hydraulic schematics.

  • Offshore engineering experience.

  • Occasional travel.
