Are you a Operations Manager or Head of Operations with retail or market trading experience? My client, one of the largest indoor markets in the UK, is seeking an experienced Operations Manager as part of their progression plan. You will be responsible for developing, implementing, and maintaining operational practices, health and safety, and commercial activity whilst driving sales and filling vacant units. You will need at least 5 years experience in a similar retail / market operations management role.

As Operations Manager you will be solely responsible for the site, which may include call outs and longer hours at key trading times e.g. Christmas, Easter and peak summer holiday periods.. This is a full time permanent role paying from £45,000 doe working 5 out of 7 days (including weekends).

Key Duties

  • Smooth day to day running of the site - both trading and non-trading days.

  • Manage employee efficiencies including maintenance and cleaning staff.

  • Review all working practices on an annual basis.

  • Implement the overall strategy for the site.

  • Motivate, coach and develop the site team.

  • Manage all KPI’s, including but not restricted to performance, customer complaints, trader units etc.

  • All training as deemed necessary.

  • Knowledge in retail legislation and management.

  • Flexible approach to work.

Experience

  • A minimum of 5 years operations management.

  • Strong leader, with demonstrable experience in performance management and team motivation.

  • Experienced in developing, achieving, and exceeding relevant site objectives.

  • PC literate.
