​Are you a seasoned business development manager with a food/food service background looking for your next role in Cornwall? My client, one of the biggest wholesaler and food service providers in the UK are looking to recruit a Business Development Manager to support their growth in central and west Cornwall. The main purpose of the role is to manage and develop relationships within existing customer base, and target, convert and retain new customers to ensure growth.

This is a full time permanent role working 40 hours per week 8:00am to 5:00pm Monday to Friday, and is paying £30,000 - £35,000 per annum doe, plus benefits.

Key Responsibilities

  • Work closely with internal colleagues to ensure the best possible fresh experience for our current and future customers.

  • Target, convert and retain new customers.

  • Manage and develop relationships within existing customer base.

  • Responsible for the management of key area management tools, such as CRM system and pipeline documents.

  • Diary and time management planning with a view to gaining maximum results.

  • Visit to the depot in Bodmin once a week.

Key Requirements

  • Relevant sales and area management experience, preferably within the foodservice sector or fresh produce would be beneficial.

  • A focus and desire for complete customer service at all times.

  • Commercially aware and an eye for profitability.

  • Strong people and customer service skills.

  • A desire to be successful, have a strong work ethic and self-motivation.

  • Full, clean UK driving licence.
