​​​Are you a electronic and electrical design engineer looking for your next role in the marine industry? My client, one of the top marine engineering companies in Cornwall are seeking a Electronic & Electrical Design Engineer to work out of their head office near Redruth. As an Electronic & Electrical Design Engineer, you would be responsible for the schematic and layout design of our electronic & electrical products and systems. This would involve panel designs for motor drive systems, enclosure layouts for subsea electronics housings, schematic designs for AC and DC circuits, PCB layouts and much more across our range of products. 18th edition wiring regulations and experience in panel building, microcontroller programing and serial devices is preferred but not essential.

My client requires people who are motivated to deliver high quality work and will integrate with their existing friendly team. Across all their engineering roles they need people with a keen interest in continuous learning, who will approach problem solving with an open mind, and enjoy technically challenging projects. You will be a key team member of a process which completes projects from concept through to delivery.

This is a full time role working 37.5 hours per week and is paying £30,00 to £38,000 doe. A full job description is available on request.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design and update electrical schematics.

  • Generation of BOM’s.

  • Prototyping and Testing.

  • PCB Layouts.

  • Fault finding and investigations on existing products.

  • Configuration of electronic hardware and modules.

Essential Skills

  • Competent at soldering wires and electronic components including surface mount.

  • Electrical and electronic software experience: EPlan, KICAD, Proteus etc.

  • Experience in working with single, three phase, and low voltage systems.

  • Good logical fault finding and repair skills.

  • Able to read and develop electrical and electronic schematics.

About You

  • Relevant engineering degree, HNC or equivalent or a minimum of 3 years’ relevant experience.

  • Detail focused individual with the ability to confidently work individually and within a team.

  • Desire to learn and continually improve your knowledge.

  • Excellent IT skills including use of Microsoft office products.

  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.

  • Eligible to work in the UK.

  • Full UK driving liciene
