​​Are you a electronics and mechanical technician / engineer looking for your next role in the marine industry? My client, one of the top marine engineering companies in Cornwall are seeking a Mechatronics Technician to work out of their head office near Redruth. The requirements of the role will be varied due to the dynamic range of projects undertaken. Some of the more typical day to day aspects of the role would include assembly and test of integrated subsea mechanical, electrical and electronic systems, building electronic system assemblies, calibrating, commissioning, and testing equipment.

My client requires people who are motivated to deliver high quality work and will integrate with their existing friendly team. Across all their engineering roles they need people with a keen interest in continuous learning, who will approach problem solving with an open mind, and enjoy technically challenging projects. You will be a key team member of a process which completes projects from concept through to delivery.

This is a full time role working 37.5 hours per week and is paying £35,600 to £41,500 doe. A full job description is available on request.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assembly and commissioning of electromechanical products with an emphasis on the electrical and electronic aspects.

  • Testing and quality control.

  • Documentation of assembles and QC.

  • PCB board assembly and assembly of wiring looms and cables.

  • Fault finding and investigations on existing products.

  • Configuration of electronic hardware and modules.

Essential Skills Include

  • Relevant engineering degree, HNC or equivalent or a minimum of 3 years’ relevant experience.

  • Competent at soldering wires and electronic components including surface mount.

  • Working with single, three phase and low voltage systems.

  • Good logical fault finding and repair skills, and safe use of handheld and power tools.

  • Able to read electrical and electronic schematics.

  • Excellent IT skills including use of Microsoft office products.

  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.

Key Experience

  • Electrical and electronic software: EPlan, Solidworks, KICAD, Proteus etc.

  • Panel building and microcontroller programming.

  • 18th edition wiring regulations.

  • Serial devices.

  • Offshore and Marine experience.

Requiring

  • Valid passport.

  • Full UK driving licence.

  • Eligible to work in the UK.
