​Are you a fire alarm engineer looking for your next role in the Cornwall area? My client, a leading fire alarm engineering company covering the UK, are recruiting for a qualified Fire Alarm Service Engineer to cover the Cornwall area. This position requires a high level of technical expertise and the ability to work in various environments. The successful candidate will have a strong work ethic, excellent communication skills, and a commitment to safety.

The client operates a 24 hour on call service so this role requires you to be on the out of hours call rota every 3-6 weeks depending on cover, and you will be informed and be given an opportunity to advise what dates you are available to be on call.

This is a full time permanent role with OTE of up to £45,000, and you will be required to hold a full clean drivers licience.

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform service and maintenance on Fire Alarm and Emergency Lights.

  • Conduct inspections and tests to ensure systems are functioning properly and in compliance with regulations.

  • Troubleshoot and repair any issues with fire protection equipment.

  • Install new fire protection systems as needed.

  • Maintain accurate records of service performed and parts used.

  • Collaborate with team members to ensure timely completion of projects to be able to report system defects/problems accurately to be able to work unsupervised for periods of time Complete Paperwork to a professional standard.

  • Organise own scheduling and replenishment van stock.

Required Experience

  • Previous experience as a fire engineer or in a similar role is essential with at least 1 years experience.

  • Knowledge of fire protection systems and equipment.

  • Familiarity with power tools and hand tools used in the installation and maintenance of fire protection systems.

  • Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.

  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
