​​Are you a IT engineer looking for your next role that is out in the field dealing with customers. My client, one of the market leaders in the field for IT support in the education sector, is recruiting an IT Support Engineer covering Cornwall and South Devon. You’ll be comfortable and conversant with the latest technologies and cloud solutions such as Microsoft/Office 365 and Google Workplace, and vendors such as Dell, HPE, Lenovo, Cisco, Microsoft, Google and Apple.

You'll possess excellent organization, communication skills and determination, as well as great troubleshooting skills. Your time will be spent out in the field with education clients working to ensure their tech is safe, reliable and delivering maximum impact, both inside and out of the classroom.

The role is full time permanent Monday to Friday with 4 out of 5 days in the field. Salary is up to £30,000 dependent on experience and includes a company vehicle.

Key Experience

  • 2+ years of Desktop support and installation.

  • 2+ years of technical support or technical customer facing role.

  • Experience with IT system installations; including windows desktops, printers, switching and WiFi preferred.

  • Experience with Microsoft 365 Admin preferred.

  • Experience with setting up new users preferred.

Preferred But Not Essential

  • Microsoft 365 Administration.

  • Microsoft Intune Application Deployment.

  • Backup Systems.

  • Routers & Firewalls.

  • PSA and RMM Software Tools.

Key Technical Skills and Knowledge

  • Good working knowledge of Windows Operating Systems.

  • Good working knowledge of Microsoft 365 suite of products, including Outlook, Word, Excel, Teams, SharePoint, OneDrive preferred.

  • Strong communications skills are key and an ability to talk with customers at all levels with a good clear and friendly telephone manner.

  • Able to explain issues and deal with customers with varying technical skills.

  • Flexible and willing to learn new skills and share knowledge and mentor other technicians.

  • Work collaboratively as part of a team, both in-person and remotely.

  • Full clean drivers licence.
