Duties cover a broad spectrum of engineering disciplines including mechanical, electrical and automation.

Responsibilities:

  • Maintain all machinery, ensuring it produces to maximum output and meets H&S standards, as well actively seeking equipment upgrades to improve safety and efficiency.

  • Attend breakdowns and action repairs across the factory, ensuring all measures taken are recorded.

  • Driving equipment upgrades and improvements and using the engineering CMMS system to log work and stores requests.

  • Responding to alarms and emergency situations and supporting outside contractors whilst working on site.

  • Complete both mechanical and electrical pro-active and reactive maintenance.

  • Maintain a positive attitude and showcase great teamwork and collaboration with customers and colleagues.

About you:

  • Proven Multiskilled Engineer with electrical bias preferred.

  • Qualified to at least NVQ Level 3 or equivalent.

  • Appropriate C&G 2382 BS 7671:2018 Edition IEE regulations qualifications.

  • Knowledge of automation, PLC programming and SCADA systems.

  • Competent in electromechanical & pneumatic systems, electrical panels, industrial wiring, welding, machining and steam boilers etc.

Applicants will ideally have previous fault-finding and engineering experience gained within an FMCG environment, ideally the food industry, alongside an understanding of HACCP principles. Additionally, the successful Multiskilled Mechanical Engineer will be based in Cornwall with their own transport.

The shifts involve working 3 on 4 off, followed by 4 on, 3 off, across 12 hour shifts starting at either 6am or 10am. There will additionally be some night on-call work some weeks on rotation.
