​​Seeking an experienced Accountant to join an established and expanding business in the Falmouth area.

This role will see the chosen candidate providing a key support function to the head of the finance team; this role offers a broad scope of responsibilities including providing timely and accurate internal and external financial data and information, supporting the budgeting and planning process and monitoring business performance to ensure that it is in line with the company strategic objectives.

KEY DUTIES:

  • Providing significant input into the budgeting process including detailed business plans, forecasts and reporting;

  • Responsible for budget and business analytics and business performance reporting;

  • Providing comprehensive financial analysis and reports by collecting, formatting, analysing, and explaining information;

  • Preparing the monthly finance management packs;

  • Prepare financial reports and assist in production of the Group financial information;

  • Preparation of accurate and robust cash flow forecasting and management;

  • Maintaining robust processes and controls in relation to financial reporting, planning and analysis, identifying opportunities for improvement;

  • Cost and Pricing variance analysis;

  • Production of compliant financial information for onward submission to government and sector specific regulatory organisations;

  • Responsible for the Monthly VAT Return, compliance, Intrastat and Statistical returns;

  • Responsible for monthly payroll administration, reporting and reconciliation; and

  • Responsible for all trademark, NDA and contract duties.

  • Ad-hoc data reports as required by the business;

  • Reviewing and analysing expenditure;

  • Write, edit and update accounts procedures;

  • Development of team's processes to ensure constant progression and efficiencies;

  • Supporting the finance team as required.

QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE:

  • Degree or other suitably equivalent qualification or level of knowledge.

  • ACA, CIMA or ACCA Qualified or Part-Qualified or equivalent

  • 2-3 years’ experience working in a corporate finance environment managing the external and internal corporate reporting requirements.

  • Advanced Excel skills - (pivot tables, vlook ups, arrays, sumif and if statements etc.) and the ability to manipulate and analyse large amounts of data.

  • Ability to understand and challenge financial data and analyse financial and other information to produce accurate reports.

  • Experience of ERP systems.

  • Knowledge of accounting for import and export transactions.

  • Knowledge of accounting within a manufacturing environment.

  • Commercially focused and minded.

  • Excellent time management and able to meet strict deadlines.

  • Strong oral and written communication skills.

  • Knowledge and application of VAT requirements.

  • Creative, conscientious, hardworking, enthusiastic, self-motivated individual.

  • Able to multi-task and use own initiative to organise workload and daily duties in an effective and efficient manner.

  • Ability to travel within the UK
