​​​Are you looking for you next role in the Geothermal Industry? My client, a small but growing team pioneering geothermal power development in the UK, is looking to recruit a highly motivated, permanent, full-time Community Engagement & Education Officer, to join their small but growing team, pioneering geothermal power development in the UK. This exciting opportunity has been created to reinforce the success of their existing community engagement activities and support their company expansion.

The successful candidate will perform a variety of duties, working with the Community Engagement & Education Manager and independently.

This is a full time permanent role 37.5 hours per week. There will be the need for flexibility to accommodate community and education events outside of these times. The role is paying £24,000 to £28,000 subject to experience, plus benefits.

Key Responsibilities

  • Communication at all levels of the business.

  • Support the Community Engagement & Education Manager with administration, reporting, diary management and bookings.

  • Manage own diary, bookings and workload whilst meeting deadlines.

  • Monitor and evaluate the impact of community engagement activities and report feedback to senior management.

  • Presentations (Public Speaking) / Customer Service.

Key Requirements

Essential

  • Excellent working knowledge of Microsoft Office, including PowerPoint.

  • Strong communication skills – verbal and written.

  • Confident when speaking in public.

  • Flexibility to work evenings and weekends when required (with time off in lieu)

  • High performance and achievement orientated, and a keen eye for detail and accuracy.

  • Ability to work on own initiative or as part of a team and able to stay calm in any situation.

  • Excellent influencing skills to confidently engage with diverse groups and a wide range of audiences.

  • Willingness to learn about renewable energy and associated technology.

  • Ability to think creatively and good time management skills

  • A full UK driving license.

Desirable

  • Previous experience in educational background or people facing role.

  • Event organisation experience.

  • Knowledge of local Cornish area.

  • At least three years of suitable prior experience.
