Based near Truro, and serving a global industrial market, we are looking for an experienced candidate to join the team.

 

As part of the publishing side of the business, the company publishes three different monthly magazines, two annual directories, and a global industry news and services website.

 

Whether online or in print, my client continues to aspire to be the must-read service for the within its sector and keep a growing audience of industry professionals at the forefront of developments.

 

Based primarily in their Truro office but with a firm remit to spend time in the US via regular business trips to clients and events, they are looking for an Editor to continue their strong trajectory their US content and publications have been on.

 

This position is a great opportunity for an experienced editor or journalist to take up the challenge in B2B publishing – and take advantage of the essential US travel opportunities it entails.

 

This is so much more than a conventional editor role alone! Your core focus will be gathering and overseeing all content for the magazine but you will also be a brand champion, a face of the business in the US market and have the confidence to represent that brand either on camera via TV platform or on stage at events.

 

 

The role will involve:

 

  • US travel commitments – at least four significant trips to the US per year.

  • Planning and managing the content and production of a monthly magazine

  • Generating content for various industry articles from own research, writing and sourced comment.

  • Liaising with a dedicated Editorial Advisory Board and establishing great professional relationships with senior, market-leading business people.

  • Regularly uploading content and columns to the company website.

  • Representing the brand on screen via webinars or virtual events and potentially on stage at events.

  • Working closely with the publishing and sales teams to maximise the reach of the business and associated publishing activities and the necessary revenues

  • Reporting ‘live’ from key events and uploading copy to the company website as responsively as possible

 

The successful candidate will have:

 

  • Excellent writing and interviewing skills

  • Good understanding of business and international markets

  • Degree in Journalism, Communications or related field

  • An outgoing personality, as comfortable dealing with CEOs and CFOs as with technology and exploration professionals

  • No faint hearts – regular travel to the US and time away from home, often for 10 days at a time, is imperative to the role

  • Confident communication and interpersonal skills

  • Demonstrable previous experience in the role of magazine editor (preferred) or at senior level, showing an ability to write, commission and process content to deadlines

  • Confidence and enthusiasm to jump on-screen as a host or contributor to webinars and other video content.
