Are you a design engineer with mechanical experience looking for your next role in the marine industry? My client, one of the top marine engineering companies in Cornwall are seeking a Mechanical Design Engineer. You must have experience in 3D modelling and drafting using Solidworks (other platforms considered), structural design calculations, preparation of BOM’s and production of technical files. A background understanding of offshore survey equipment would be advantageous but is not essential.

As part of a small team you will be required to produce engineered solutions to meet a vast range of technical demands. This will involve taking design projects from concept to completion and work closely with in-house project, design and manufacturing teams. There may be a requirement to travel when needed to meet customers.

This is a full time role working 37.5 hours per week and paying £28,000 to £38,000 per annum doe. A full job description is available on request.

Key Responsibilities

  • Minimum of 5 years 3D design experience using Solidworks (other platforms will be considered).

  • Higher education in engineering related subject.

  • Mechanical design experience.

  • Time management skills.

  • Excellent communication skills.

  • Highly motivated team player.

About You

  • Sheet metal, machining and fabrication experience.

  • Hydraulics and electronics experience.

  • Experience within a production environment.

  • Offshore / geotechnical sampling background knowledge.

  • Confidence working as an individual, or within a team.

  • Eligible to work in the UK.
