Are you looking to join a forward thinking and innovative recruitment business with an amazing wellbeing and development package? Sounds too good to be true? But the good news is, it’s exactly what we’re offering, and more…

Due to continued expansion, we are on the hunt for an experienced Recruitment Consultant to join our permanent team to further support business growth and enhance our ability to exceed client and candidate expectations.

Established in 1980, Smith and Reed have gained a reputation for supplying a quality recruitment service to a wide range of companies in the South-West. We work hard to provide a diverse vacancy portfolio for individuals seeking permanent or temporary positions, and work with clients across a wide range of sectors. We take time to fully understand each client and candidate, ensuring that all placements are the perfect fit and relationships are built with integrity.

As one of the leading recruiters across the South-West, our values remain a priority when establishing relationships and offering a top-quality service. People are at the heart of our business and this is reflected in everything that we do. With respect, inclusion, and diversity, we deliver a better working culture. We value ideas over hierarchy. We pull together, challenge constructively and communicate effectively. When we focus on our strengths and lean into the strengths of others, we can make the impossible, possible. Great people make great business.

The chosen candidate will be driven and full of energy to achieve – we have big plans for 2024 and beyond so it is a great time to be joining us in what will be an exciting period of growth for the business. We are proud of the success and reputation we have built over the years, so this role is integral to our business as we grow to the next level.

As an experienced recruiter, you will be very familiar with what the job involves, but here is what we need:

  • Previous recruitment, sales and account management experience – particularly running a permanent desk (sector experience is not important but a great opportunity for a proven consultant to develop a new division to suit them).

  • Excellent communication skills.

  • Ability to build and maintain relationships.

  • Genuine desire to succeed.

  • Ability to deal with the ‘recruitment rollercoaster’ with both humour and problem solving.

  • Process driven and consistent work ethic.

  • Demonstrable evidence of winning and building new business opportunities

  • Ability to work as part of a team – we have no islands here!

What’s in it for you?

Wellbeing is at the forefront of everything we do. After all, happy and engaged employees with reasonable working hours have a better foundation for success! Not to mention, hard work deserves reward, so here is what you can expect from us:

  • Generous and competitive salary package

  • Uncapped commission

  • NO thresholds

  • Monthly Massage during work hours

  • 25 days holiday a year + bank holidays

  • Birthday & Company Anniversary Bonus

  • 2 paid volunteer days a year

  • Subsidised city centre parking

  • Private healthcare after 2 years’ continuous service.

  • Salary sacrifice: Cycle to work scheme & pension scheme.

  • Flexible home/office work policy

  • Regular team lunches & events.

  • Fully expensed Christmas party (these are F.U.N!)

  • Supportive, friendly and positive team - you have a tough day, we pick you up!
